Your consultation at Cleopatra Ink isn't just paperwork—it's where your vision becomes real. Here's exactly what happens, how to prepare, and why our process matters.

A consultation at Cleopatra Ink is where your idea becomes a real plan. You come in with something in your head—maybe just a vague feeling, maybe a fully formed vision—and you leave knowing exactly what's going to happen, when it'll happen, and why you're going to love it. This isn't a five-minute form and done. Our artists actually sit down and talk with you. Whether this is your first tattoo, your tenth piercing, or a memorial piece you've been thinking about for months, knowing what to expect from a Cleopatra Ink consultation means you'll walk in ready to ask real questions and make choices you'll feel good about for life.

What Happens During a Cleopatra Ink Consultation

You arrive at our Downtown Seattle studio and one of our artists meets you in a private spot where we can actually talk. Depending on what you're after, that could be Vee, Kuya Ramon, or Seray. No rushing. They ask about your idea, what drew you to it, what it means to you. They listen and ask questions back. If you've got reference images, you show them. If you want to see similar pieces they've done, they pull examples from their portfolio.

For a tattoo, the conversation gets specific fast. Where on your body? How big? What style feels right to you? They'll explain how different placements actually change how the design looks—wrapping around your ribs is totally different from the same design on your forearm. Black and gray or color? Thin lines or bolder? How does it heal and what does that process actually look like? For piercings, they talk anatomy, jewelry styles, and real daily aftercare instead of generic instructions.

They walk you through timing and cost, answer your questions about pain and healing, and then you either book right there or take time to think about it. Both are fine. Good artists know you'll come back when the time is right.

Five Things to Confirm Before You Book Your Cleopatra Ink Appointment

Why Cleopatra Ink's Consultation Process Builds Trust

Our 4.9-star rating across 1,300+ reviews exists because we actually care about two things during consultations: your time and your body. Our artists aren't pushing you through paperwork to get to the next person. Each consultation gets the time it needs, nothing less.

You also see our space in person during the consultation. You notice the hospital-grade sterilization, the gold details and Egyptian atmosphere, how the whole studio is built around making you comfortable. You meet your artist face-to-face, not through a screen. Kuya Ramon will walk you through how he handles memorial pieces and hyperrealistic work with sensitivity. Seray will show you jewelry options and explain what the actual anatomy looks like for your piercing. Vee will tell you the reality of fine-line work and how it settles over time. This is where actual trust happens—through real conversation, honest information, and people who know what they're doing.

We also catch problems before they become permanent. Allergic to nickel? We know that before your appointment. On blood thinners and worried about bleeding? We talk about it upfront. Does your design need adjusting for where you want it placed? Your artist sketches options during the consultation so you're not making big decisions in the chair.

Your Cleopatra Ink Consultation: Common Questions

Do I need to pay for a consultation?

No charge for the initial consultation. We think explaining how we work and understanding your vision is just part of the service. If you book, we'll ask for a deposit to hold your date, but the consultation itself is free.

Can I bring reference images or design ideas?

Yes, bring everything. Pinterest boards, photos of other tattoos, artwork, drawings, whatever helps explain what you're after. Your artist uses these to understand your style and create something built for you, not a copy of something else.

How long does a consultation take?

Anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes depending on what you're getting done. A simple piercing consultation might be quick. A custom multi-session tattoo takes longer. We don't cut corners on this conversation.

What if I'm nervous about pain or commitment?

Your artist has heard every concern under the sun and will give you straight answers. They'll explain what it'll actually feel like, how to prepare yourself, and what the healing timeline really looks like. Nerves are totally normal, and that's exactly what the consultation is for. Bring it up.
